As of late, routine and responsibilities have got me down man. The daily grind, the 9-5 if you will, has become intensely monotonous. Don't get me wrong, I know we are truly "blessed" (I oftentimes can't stand that word, but in this case it's 100% true). I have a wonderful job, with great benefits, Allan is doing incredibly well in grad school (he's a genius, amirite?), we have our health and our families' health, our living situation is so, so good, et cetera, et cetera...
- however -
...I just want to quit everything, buy a tiny house, and live off the land lately. We've wanted to live tiny for some time, but it just sounds so good RIGHT NOW (probably because it's the extreme opposite of the daily grind). I want more time and more exploration in my life and I feel like a tiny house would and/or could cater to that. I know life isn't all about constant fun and adventure and I know that we shouldn't despise these days with their small things, but...
What if you didn't have to be SO responsible? What if we were able to slow down (I feel like I'm currently participating in life at a fast forward speed) and minimize our bills, pair down our stuff, live with less, but gain SO much more in experiences? That would be awesome.
THIS is why tiny houses appeal to me so greatly. With a tiny house, the aforementioned conditional statements seem more attainable, more realistic. I mean doesn't the idea of a well designed and decorated tiny house sound dreamy? Living with less, being a bit more still, yet simultaneously becoming more adventurous...sigh.
Allan (the one responsible for me even knowing about tiny houses in the first place) and I have narrowed it down to a few models that we like. This past weekend Jannelle and myself were even able to check out one company in particular that had a pop up in the north bay area. It was (insert Trump voice here) HUUUUUUGE though.
Basically this is me daydreaming about not being responsible in the way most adults are expected to at our age. This is me pining for a more simplistic, and dare I say alternative, reality. So, after a bit of a ramble (what's new?), here are a few of our favorite tiny house models and links to those houses below.
