Allan and I recently celebrated 4 happy years of marriage! Each year we've been mindful of exchanging the traditional anniversary gift according to our year of marriage. It has been really fun concocting each year's gift. For example, year one of marriage the traditional gift is paper, so we exchanged cards. Year two is cotton, so we exchanged shirts...
The traditional gift for year 4 of marriage is fruit and/or flowers. Allan, along with my parents, genuinely surprised me with an incredibly thoughtful fourth year anniversary gift. My mom has this bowl of glass fruit that are originally my Grandma Jay's and I've always loved them. They're quirky and nostalgic to me, so when Allan gifted them to me for our recent anniversary I was thrilled.
